Chained Dreams by therese678 Chained Dreams by therese678
Reality vs. Dreams...

In the drawing, the girl is sad that she has to give up on her dreams and decides to bind her dream with chains and even puts a lock on it. Her wings are even all tattered from all the challenges that she has had go through. But she still holds the key to open the lock on the chains. She still has the option of fulfilling her dream, though she needs to find the will and the courage to do it.

I got the idea for this artwork when we were discussing our life map at school wherein we all got to share our hopes and dreams for our own future and draw them in the map of our lives. Naturally, we all hoped that everything will go according to our plans.

Unfortunately, though everyone may have dreams of their own, not everyone gets to fulfill those dreams. That's the sad reality.

Sometimes, the challenges we face when trying to achieve our dreams may seem too difficult for us to handle that we might decide to give up on our dreams. However, the only one who holds the key to the fulfillment of our dreams is ourselves. If "Being happy is a choice", then I think the same goes for fulfilling our dreams. It's entirely up to us whether we should continue pursuing our dreams or give in to the challenges and just lock our dreams up and be forgotten forever.

I do that in Photoshop. First, use the magic wand to select the space outside your lineart or character. Then, on a separate layer, fill this selection with white (or whatever color you prefer :aww:), then use outer glow for the layer style. Just play with the opacity, spread, size and range until you're satisfied with the effect. :D
